Service was friendly but the food was a bland

I eat there at least twice a week. I always get the famous Estrella Burger with fries which is amazing. I've also tried a few other choices that they have. Everything is good.

Can't remember if I came here. But I must have loved it

The food is delicious!!! The staff (including chef) are the most friendly & welcoming :) I eat here every single time I crave Mexican food. I'm not Mexican but I know when I'm eating authentic/home made food and this most definitely is the place to go for that. Don't let the location make you think otherwise.....I'll admit I didn't want to try it because of that and ever since I gave it a chance I can't stay away :)

I will never eat at another Mexican restaurant again. This place has food so good it will give you feelings. The burrito my friend ordered was so big it made the table tilt.

Good food, friendly staff

If you live in Athens, you probably don't realize how good you have it. After moving to two different states, my family is still searching for a Mexican restaurant that serves food even a fraction as good as the food here. We are constantly talking about going back to visit Athens, if nothing else to just have a chance to dine here again. The food is amazing. I sometimes seriously consider calling the restaurant to see if they can freeze some of our favorite dishes and overnight them to us. We miss this place so much.

The service is excellent, BUT I cannot understand the high reviews for this place. The chips were dry and stale, the salsa was flavorless, and the chorizo queso was just sad. My burrito was regular sized and bland. The beef fajitas were probably the best thing we ordered, but bordered on flavorless. I would call this decent Tex-Mex and by no means the best Mexican food ever like all these other reviewers...

Doesn't look like much from the outside nor inside, but LET ME TELL YALL!! This is the ONLY place I'll go for mexican in Athens. Period. It's amazing & authentic. Prices are fair for the amount of food I get and the taste! I ate here once, and legit would get off work and get a plate of this food EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. for at least 2 months. You will not be disappointed!!

Aw yes! Authentic food. Large portions and small price. The restaurant is clean and quiet. They give great, friendly service. It's a fantastic hole-in-wall place, if you're craving good Mexican food.

The food was pretty good but nothing special. The kitchen couldn't get all items out at the same time and were amazingly slow and it wasn't busy. I had to ask for check two times and then when I finally got the check the waitress couldn't ring me out. Over an hour to get lunch. I probably won't return.

ALL THE 5 STAR REVIEWS ARE FAKE!!!! We went in at 11. We were the only customers until about 11:40. The chips were stale. The service was bad. We never got a refill on our tea (which tasted NOT good) despite the lack of customers (ie they weren’t too busy to offer service). I ordered a beef burrito and no one told me it would have lettuce, sour cream, rice, corn etc etc. I told the woman that wasn’t what I wanted and they didn’t take it off the bill. It’s very expensive for the bland food that you get. I will NEVER be back. Go to Sr. Sols or anywhere else instead!! Don’t torture yourself and your bank account!!

Worst Mexican restaurant I have been to in years. Simply awful: burnt chips and taco shell, lousy EVERYTHING excepting re fried beans and chili verde. Exceptionally bad. The several good reviews of this establishment MUST be plants. The place is incredibly bad.

We walked in and not many people were there. Why? I don't know. There should have been way more people there because this place is amazing. This is a quaint little authentic Mexican place with great traditional Mexican decorations and music. Don't be turned off by how it looks on the outside! The people that own it and work there are so nice. They made sure we were happy with the food, which we were! At the end of our meal the main guy who worked there gave us free cheesecake to show his appreciation for our business! We will be going back! Great authentic Mexican! I don't know why it isn't packed. Hidden gem!

The steak tacos are really good, and the cerveza is cold!

One of the most relax places I felt like I was at home, very nice staff, and really good authentic food my husband enjoyed the seafood soup, I enjoyed the spicy shrimp. We will definitely be back!!!

Awesome Chicken soup - perfect for cold season but if you're like me Chicken Soup is yummy any time: it's all in the broth. BEST Cerviche in town and I've tried them all. Haven't done their breakfast but that's next on the list.
